（中央社記者姜遠珍首爾9日專電）為了迅速因應中東呼吸症候群（MERS）的防疫與治療，南韓政府決定以「擴大適用健康保險」及「支援患者負擔費用」的方式，積極補助MERS疑似或確診患者的治療經費。
南韓保健福祉部今天發布新聞表示，對於MERS疑似或確診患者在接受醫院治療時，除了適用健保給付，並擴大健保給付範圍，包括他們使用的隔離病房住院費。
對於抗病毒治療劑的費用，也擴大到專門學會治療所公布使用的藥劑。
另外，有關補助MERS患者負擔的費用方面，將健保外應由患者自付的金額，由國家或地方政府代為支付。也就是動用國家和地方政府的感染病預防管理預算。
